The weekend features both academic and casual presentations on Wikimedia-related outreach activities, workshops to improve the skills of grassroots organizers, and discussions on the past, present, and future of the Wikimedia projects. The conference features tracks on community outreach, online activity, partnerships with institutions of knowledge, and technology.

The third annual WikiConference North America will be held at the San Diego Central Public Library in San Diego, California on October 7–10, 2016.

  • This year's theme is inclusivity. It centers on the engagement of North American people in our movement with the programing being offered. • Keynote speakers include Katherine Maher, Executive Director of the Wikimedia Foundation, Merrilee Proffitt, Senior Program Officer of OCLC Research, and Dr. Lourdes Epstein, Library Director at the Mexico City campus of the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey.
  • Wiki Culture Crawl is a Pre-conference Day at Balboa Park involving more than 15 of its museums and institutions. It will be the the largest one-day GLAM-Wikipedia collaboration ever held. Sign up now for the October 7th free event!
