Photography and videography are welcome at WikiConference North America. Photographers and videographers are encouraged to release their images and video under a Creative Commons license and/or make them accessible by uploading them to Wikimedia Commons, YouTube, or other publicly accessible repository.

Attendees will wear lanyards indicating their personal preference regarding photography. Red lanyards indicate that the attendee does not consent to appearing in photographs and/or video. WikiConference policy requires all attendees, including members of the press, to respect the wishes of attendees wearing the red lanyards by refraining from photographing or videotaping them and by deleting any images or video accidentally taken of these attendees. Violating this policy is grounds for removal from WikiConference under the Safe Space Policy.

Surreptitiously photographing or videotaping attendees or using photography or videography to harass attendees is also grounds for removal under the Safe Space Policy.

Video personnel

We welcome more videography volunteers! Please sign up using our online sign up form to indicate your availability and interests.

Video experience is helpful but not required. Volunteers will be required to meet via Google Hangouts with Pine prior to the conference, and will be required to be present at the library at 8:30 AM on Saturday morning to help with coordinating video for the day. While it is helpful if video volunteers can be available for Saturday through Monday, partial availability is OK.
