File:Commons License templates usage statistics - October 2016.pdf
Abstract
Commons has almost a thousand primary license templates and much more secondary templates that include one or more primary templates. We will look at the what type of licenses we have, and how popular they are. We will also look at 2 parallel mechanisms for detecting files missing licenses and how missing licenses are currently being handled. We will discuss ways to make the process more friendly and discuss how the process might change in the future if the wikibase style metadata is adopted.
