Title:

How a Nationwide Sprint with Repro Activists Sparked a Web App to Fill Knowledge Gaps

Type of session:

Lecture (15-30 min)

Session theme(s):

Credibility, Missing pieces

Abstract:

Born from a design sprint with reproductive justice activists and Wikipedia experts, we developed a prototype web app to empower volunteers to combat misinformation and close content gaps on Wikipedia in English and Spanish. Designed for accessibility and impact, the platform aims to provide guided training, real-time support, and mobile tools. We are now in the phase of seeking support to pilot and grow this vision into a movement-powered editing ecosystem, not only into reproductive justice, but across the knowledge gaps our movements are ready to fill.
