Title:

Humans Write. AI Assists.

Type of session:

Lightning talk

Session theme(s):

Credibility, Missing pieces, Future of Wikipedia

Abstract:

Humans Write. AI Assists.

Wikipedia has always been built by people — across languages, perspectives, and lived experiences. As AI tools become more common in editing workflows, the real opportunity lies not in automation, but in thoughtful collaboration.

This proposal explores how AI can be designed to support editors in human-centered ways: by reducing bias, surfacing underrepresented knowledge, and guiding rather than gatekeeping. Grounded in Wikipedia’s values and inspired by recent developments in AI policy, the session opens up a conversation about what comes next — and how we can shape it together.
