Abstract:
Changing priorities, re-aligned missions and diminished organizational capacities may affect the ability of current and potential institutional partners from engaging with Wikimedia projects. At this session, Ariel Cetrone of Wikimedia DC will share best practices for encouraging continued engagement and supporting partner goals, even when those partners are no longer able to physically do the work themselves due to internal directives. We will also discuss how Wikimedia affiliates can align other partner programs and pick up the slack.
As Institutional Partnerships Manager for WMDC, Ariel has worked with partners on ~200 edit-a-thons and initiatives, many of which have been co-presented with US governmental partners or affiliates.
