Abstract:
Librarians, educators, and Wikimedians from around New England are invited to meet each other and learn about local projects in this session. Past events have included (really fun!) social picnics, edit-a-thons, and meetings. This session will be a chance for those in New England to meet other locals interested in Wikipedia, and for those in New England to share their work and ideas with the larger North American community.
The session will begin with a block of short lightning talks, where people doing Wikipedia-related projects and events individually or at their institutions can present their work. These lightning talks will be solicited ahead of time, with space left for on-site signups. This will be followed with time for discussion and mingling to encourage collaborations among people in the area.
