WikiConference North America 2025 will take place in New York City on October 16–19, 2025. (Pre- or post-conference events may possibly be scheduled on adjacent dates.) The city previously submitted an expression of interest for hosting Wikimania 2025. More information will be available at meta:WikiConference North America/2025.

The theme for WCNA 2025 is "Wiki World's Fair." By celebrating the contributions of diverse voices and fostering cross-border partnerships, the theme seeks to fuel the Wikimedia movement’s growth, encouraging participants to reimagine how free knowledge can empower individuals, encourage cross-cultural collaboration and transform societies worldwide.

This year, we expect around 300 attendees to attend the 4-day event, including scholarship recipients, guest speakers and affiliates from across the region. The conference will feature workshops, presentations, and networking opportunities, fostering connections among Wikimedians, educators and cultural organizations.

History

WikiConference North America User Group was formed in 2016 after that year's conference. It is a recognized Affiliate by the Wikimedia Foundation. The purpose of the User Group is to assure that the experiences gained at one conference are shared with future year conference organizers. The mission of the User Group includes coordinating the planning and hosting of events under our purview. Additionally, the User Group documents best practices and shares lessons learned with other Wikimedia communities planning and hosting conferences and similar events. In 2020, 2021 and 2022 WikiConference North America were online. We returned in person in 2023.
