  • signing up for wikiprojects allows for targeted notifications/messages to users who have signed up (currently these are separate signups with separate implementations - massmessage/wp signup; potentially no reason to keep this separate moving forward)

FEAR NOT?!

• the structure already exists - it's essentially what everyone's doing anyway
  • indenting talkpage replies, quoting lines, wanting to reply to specific users - just implement that in the software so it's easier
  • similarly, the things WikiProjects are already doing are what we're implementing with CollaborationKit
    • members lists
    • todo lists
    • bot reports

• we simply follow these patterns of discovery, of what has been done already in wikitext, and implement them in more stable, scalable software, and this is what will lead us to the future of MediaWiki in general
