The Wiki Culture Crawl is a WikiConference North America tradition, held on the day before the conference proper, on Thursday November 9.

There will be a series of GLAM tours and edit-a-thons in the morning and the afternoon, to be followed by the opening night reception in the evening. More details and how to register for these events to come!

You may wish to consider uploading science-related photographs taken during these GLAM tours for the Wiki Science Competition.

Tentative GLAM tours:

  • 11am-1pm - Morning edit-a-thon in museum library
  • 2pm-4pm - Afternoon edit-a-thon in museum library

  • You can easily get to the market on public transit: the 510 Spadina, 506 College, and 505 Dundas Streetcars would get you there
  • Come as you are, wherever you are coming from: Our meeting spot will be at Cafe Pamenar, 307 Augusta Ave. just south of College St. between 1 and 1:15pm – welcome to Kensington Martket, feel free to grab a coffee for the walk while we wait
  • If you arrive later, just ping the Telegram group and join us as we walk south on Augusta starting at 1:15pm, exploring different culinary and historical gems in Kensington
  • As we walk around, feel free to leave the group and visit a shop that you like or pop into whatever eating option that sings to your palette
  • Some food options as we walk around Kensington: Amazing sweets at Wanda's Pie in the Sky; Delicious bagels at NU Bügel; Sit down brunch / lunch at Kos, Pera, Egg Bae or Our Spot; Tacos from Gus Tacos or Seven Lives; Toronto legend, Italian meets Jamaica at Rasta Pasta; Ka Chi Korean; Saigon Lotus Vegan Vietnamese; Pho Hung, one of Toronto's most famous Pho places near the end of our tour; Finally in Chinatown: Rol San for Dim Sum, King Noodle for more Chinese food options, and Mother's Dumplings
  • If you have time or want another great coffee for your walk to AGO or wherever you're going, then stop by FIKA and get a Swedish treat too while you're at it
  • Vintage shopping: Exile and Courage My Love are among Toronto's most beloved vintage shops

Snakes & Lattes Annex

In the evening, participants and guests of honor are invited to a cocktail reception starting at 6 p.m at Snakes & Lattes Annex (600 Bloor St. W).
