Abstract:
A treasure trove of Public Domain books, magazines, and newspapers are available for us to read. Many include photos that are ripe for upload into the wiki-universe. This session will describe workflows and best practices regarding how to:
- PREPARATION
- research/ find PD sources
- compare multiple versions of the same source to determine which is better for uploading
- crop images
- WIKIMEDIA COMMONS
- upload one or a batch of images
- categories, rotation, renaming
- WIKIDATA
- add the newly-uploaded image to Wikidata
- WIKIPEDIA
- add the newly-uploaded image to Wikipedia
