About Wikipedia, or about off-wiki sources?

Figureskatingfan Maybe this is something that you will clarify, but from the current proposal text, I am a bit unclear about whether you want to talk about why Wikipedia is odd lit, or if you want people to survey the odd-lit genre outside of Wikipedia to improve Wikipedia itself. Bluerasberry My presentation will argue that yes, Wikipedia is odd lit, as are the sources editors have to use to support content in articles about obscure topics, biographies about women, and female-focused topics. I argue that editors have to resort to odd lit sources, which are difficult to locate on the basis of their odd lit status, to back up their claims. I give tips for locating these sources, using examples and personal experiences about how I, as an editor of articles about obscure topics and bios about women, have been able to do that. This presentation is emerging, since it's my thesis for the M.A. degree in English at the University of Idaho, which I'm currently just starting to write and develop, but I thought that it was important enough to share with the general Wikimedia community.
