Risker made her first edit to Wikipedia in 2005; like many Wikipedians of her generation, that first edit was made to fix a spelling error. Over time, she developed editing skills and discovered other ways to help the project. She holds administrator, CheckUser and Oversighter permissions on English Wikipedia, and served as a member of the Arbitration Committee for five years. On the global level, she has been a member of and advisor to the Election Committee, has worked closely with the global CheckUser team, has been a member of the Funds Dissemination Committee for five years, and is currently a member of the Roles & Responsibilities strategic working group.
