Rosh Hashanah conflict

I'm pleased that WCNA will be so close to my home. But did anyone notice that the conference is scheduled on Rosh Hashanah, one of the holiest days on the Jewish calendar? ProfGray (talk) 18:58, 1 May 2024 (UTC)

ProfGray, yes, it appears that they did notice, but considered it an unavoidable conflict. Sdkbtalk 02:05, 6 May 2024 (UTC)

Program submission bugs

Peaceray and SuperHamster, while submitting a session proposal, I encountered two bugs that you may wish to fix:

  1. For proposals with external links, the Captcha challenge asks for last year's city, but does so in the future tense. It could be updated to this year or a more persistent question could be used instead.
  2. The form asks Would you be able to attend the conference if you do not receive a scholarship? but after submission the question on pages becomes Scholarship required to attend?, reversing the meaning of the answer.

Cheers, Sdkbtalk 02:28, 6 May 2024 (UTC)

Both fixed - thanks for pointing these issues out! ~SuperHamster Talk Contribs 16:36, 8 May 2024 (UTC)

Help uploading presentation

Hi,

Peaceray and SuperHamster Please remind us presenters if/how one can upload the presentation in advance. Thanks! TMorata (talk) 17:53, 1 October 2024 (UTC)

TMorata Here's what I received by email: If you have a slidedeck, please link to it on your submission/abstract page. The link can either lead to a pdf that you have uploaded to Wikimedia Commons under the WikiConference North America 2024 Presentations category, or to a slidedeck you're still working on (e.g. Google Slides). The deadline to provide the link is Tuesday, October 1st.
So, I will probably just put a link onto my submissions page. ProfGray (talk) 02:37, 2 October 2024 (UTC)

Peaceray Thanks! I will try just that. TMorata (talk) 13:15, 3 October 2024 (UTC)
