Photo Drive
The 2017 Montreal Photo Drive takes place August 9 - 10 as part of WikiConference North America 2017 during the Wikimania pre-conference. This large gathering of Wikimedians presents a great opportunity to help photograph and cover Montreal on the Wikimedia Commons, Wikipedia, and Wikidata.
Event details
Anyone is welcome to participate! The goal of this event is to catalogue everyone's photographic contributions during Wednesday and Thursday at WikiConference North America. We want to see your experiences!
Suggestions on what to photograph throughout the day:
- Landmarks
- Parks
- Skylines
- BAnQ-Vieux interior, rare books, and artifacts
- McGill University campus
- Backstage content on McGill's tours
- Redpath Museum artifacts
Do be mindful of copyright laws regarding artworks. Refer to Canada's freedom of panorama laws when photographing 3D public artwork; you may photograph buildings, as well as "a sculpture or work of artistic craftsmanship or a cast or model of a sculpture or work of artistic craftsmanship, that is permanently situated in a public place or building".
