Title:
- How articles start
Theme:
- Reliability of Information
Type of session:
- Workshop
Abstract:
It is only practical to improve the quality and maintain the currency of our millions of articles if they are reasonably acceptable at the start. For the last 12 years, my principal activity on Wikipedia has been the various processes of screening new articles. I will describe and illustrate not just what it is supposed to be, but how it actually works. I'm going to give some indication of how it has evolved, some illustrations of the process in action, and an indication of what I look for when I do it. I'll emphasise our most recently added process, Articles for Creation.
1. Userspace drafts 2. Articles for Creation / Draftspace 3. New pages patrol 4. Speedy Deletion and other deletion processes.
