Abstract:
Wikipedia consists of articles; Wikidata consists of facts. Articles are ideal for human consumption; facts are idal for machine consumption. Neither is ideal for verifiability: facts are too limited to describe anything interesting, and articles make the referencing of sources cumbersome, and include many subjective choices such as due weight.
I will describe a possible middle layer of sourced claims (statements) and discuss how it would help, some of the open questions and how they might be solved, and the potential benefits and use cases (including how it might improve verifiability).
