Title:
- Wiki LGBT+ meetup
Theme:
- Relationship Building & Support
Type of session:
- Round Table
Abstract:
This event is a meetup for discussing LGBT+ themed program development in our region.
This meetup will start by introducing Wikimedia LGBT+, the international organization advocating for LGBT+ interests in the Wikimedia space, and listing some issues which its contributors have raised as urgent. Attendees at this event will briefly explain the issues, then attendees at the event choose to discuss 1 or more of the issues in detail. We use shared note-taking to record positions, then publish those thoughts to wiki to advance the conversation.
Anyone can add potential topics for discussion. Here are some recurring issues which we might choose to discuss at this event:
- outcomes of the Wiki Loves Pride campaign
- state of global representation of LGBT+ issues in Wikimedia projects
- policy recommendations for the Wikimedia movement, such as on non-discrimination or code of conduct
- support available for LGBT+ content editors who experience harassment
- administration of our programs: available resources and how to share them
