How can Africa and North America partner to promote the goals of the Foundation

Theme:

Type of session:

Presentation

Abstract:

The whole point of open-source software is that it's freely available for anyone to hack and use for whatever they want, right? But MediaWiki is, first and foremost, built for Wikipedia and similar community documentation projects. It's not really built to be used to present images and other files. It's not made for searching complex data. It's not intended to be a single-person notepad, or a code review or task management platform. It's not a forum, it's not a social platform, it's not a game.

But it's used for all these things.
