Abstract:

This presentation will explore how the English Wikipedia’s page protection policy is interpreted and implemented through interactions between editors at the noticeboard requests for page protection (RFPP). It will detail the current consensus on how the various aspects of the page protection policy are currently implemented and explore how such consensus is reached. Discretionary areas regarding the protection policy include how long a page should be protected, and what threshold of conflict or disruption warrants protection at all.
