Abstract:

Architects Build Wiki is a pilot collaboration project launching in 2021 that will explore how professional societies, GLAM institutions, and wiki experts can work together to improve a content area. Our focus for the pilot phase is Black architects of Detroit; we hope to expand our scope to Black architects of other cities in the coming year, and to establish a model that other like-minded organizations can emulate. We seek to learn from and build on the efforts of past successful campaigns including Wiki Women in Red, Wiki Loves Monuments, News On Wiki, etc. Three presenters—an architect, a museum professional, and a wiki expert—will present as a team.
