Conference outline
WikiConference North America 2017 is taking place over the course of two days, and we have many exciting activities planned to welcome you to Montreal!
August 9 - Wednesday - Culture Crawl, Scan-a-thon, and Reception
Our second-annual Culture Crawl connects Wikimedians with Montreal's cultural institutions. The day's activities are a great chance to explore and connect with the city you'll be spending the rest of Wikimania in.
- At McGill University:
- Three unique tours, including backstage tours with their collections and archive.
- Free access to the Redpath Museum
- At the BAnQ-Vieux:
- Canadian Women Edit-a-thon
- Wikidata training sessions
- Scan-a-thon / Source-a-thon with BAnQ's rare materials dating back over a century.
- Tour of the BAnQ and its backroom archives.
- A Photo Drive - take photos for the Commons throughout the day.
August 10 - Thursday - Programming
On Thursday we invite you to attend our three=track programming sessions, which includes:
- Presentations from community members on their activities, projects, and more.
- Technical workshops on Wikidata, the Outreach Dashboard, and more.
- Roundtable discussion on innovating edit-a-thons and meetups
- Lightning Talks (5 minutes) for anyone to get up and give.
- Unconference - make it your own!
